Q: Why is it so expensive?

Q: Who created the Admissions Accelerator program?

Admission Science was co-founded by two Harvard graduates, David Ma and Jordan Tung, who both care very deeply about the role of education. David and Jordan both came from middle class immigrant families that viewed education as the path to upward mobility.

Q: When is the best time to join?

The Admissions Accelerator is a comprehensive program designed to cover all the bases of the college admissions process. We recognize that many families will have their own ideal timeline for "getting into college admissions stuff."

In general, we strongly recommend families to start preparing for college as early as possible. Many families opt to join the Admissions Accelerator when their students are still in middle school, such as in 7th or 8th grade, so that they can start planning ahead and building momentum before high school.

The #1 reason we see most parents hesitant to start early is because they don't want their children to feel overstressed or miss out on their normal high school experience. We are actually fully aligned with both of these goals, and we designed the Admissions Accelerator to be as well. Here's how:

#1 — Don't want students to feel overstressed.

Many parents don't want their children to be stressed out with thinking about college too early. While we definitely understand the notion, based on the hundreds of students we've worked with, we've found the exact opposite to be true.

We've seen that students who start preparing early end up feeling much less stressed out about college applications because they get the ball rolling early. They have the luxury of spreading out the preparation instead of trying to cram it all in during the last 2 years of high school. Instead of a last minute crunch, students are able to take quick and easy steps early on that snowball into a very compelling case by the time they reach senior year.

#2 — Don't want students to miss out on the normal high school experience.

Q: If I don't join this time, can you hold my spot in a future cohort?

We have enrollment periods on a sporadic basis as long as we have capacity. The reason is that we have students joining as early as 6th or 7th grade. Therefore, we schedule our enrollment periods to work around the expected number of students in the program during each graduating class.

We do not allow families to reserve spots in future cohorts for the Admissions Accelerator program. There are two main reasons for this. First, as we explained above, the enrollment periods are not pre-determined but rather dependent on the number of students in upcoming graduating classes. Second, from our experience, procrastination only begets more procrastination. If we reserve a spot for you in a future cohort only for you to ask for another postponement, then that only prevents someone else from being to join.

We understand that we're leaving money on the table by not having open enrollment all year round. However, that's a tradeoff we're willing to make in order to ensure each student gets the support they deserve. At the same time, we do give you maximum flexibility once you're in the program, with extended access all the way until after the student's applications are over in senior year spring. So if you do see the value in the Admissions Accelerator, then we recommend you to lock in your spot in this cohort before enrollment closes.

Q: How much time will this program take?

This program is designed for speed and efficiency. It's as lean as it can be. We don't want families to be stuck behind their computers listening to our voices all day.

We want families to get the vital information they need so that students can stay on track for college admissions while having a rich and fulfilling high school experience.
